A true ancestral beauty ritual, queens and empresses painted their skin and lips with these pigments with infinite variations of red.

What is plant-based colour?

Le Rouge Français is a global pioneer in using plant pigments to colour its make-up products and boasts a rich library of hundreds of colour plants, selected for their unique colouring qualities and biological benefits. Such as madder, sorghum, indigo, Corsican chestnut and Damask rose. These plants are harvested in their native environment to preserve the biodiversity and local economy of the regions where they are grown.

As a brand certified by the international ECOCERT label, all materials must be 100% recyclable or biodegradable. Boxes and bottles are made of plant-based materials of organic origin and glass. Lipstick cases are made of aluminium. Other accessories are made of wood, polyethylene or metal. The packaging is made of FSC-certified wood from ecologically managed French forests.
