The colour pigment
Weld - Reseda luteola - is a typical Mediterranean plant. It was used by medieval illustrators, who knew it by the Italian name Arzica. From the 1st to the 10th century AD, from Egypt to Palestine, it was the main source of yellow-orange dye for silk and for wool for large kilim carpets with floral motifs from eastern Anatolia.

This pigment is known for its incredible biological qualities.
