Traditional production

This soap is made using the hot saponification process. During the final stage of production, the fresh organic donkey’s milk is added cold. This ensures that this special ingredient remains an integral part of the final formula.

Donkey milk from a French breeding farm

The fresh organic donkey milk in this soap comes from a breeding farm in the Haute-Garonne region of France. The animals live in the pasture all year round and have access to a winter stable where they are fed organic feed.

The farm works with different groups of donkeys to ensure sufficient rest and variety during birthing periods. During these periods, the foals drink all the available milk. Outside these periods, a donkey produces on average around one litre of milk per day.

The selected farm pays close attention to the animals’ welfare and treats the donkeys with respect.

Sustainably produced palm oil

The base of this soap consists of saponified palm oil and palm kernel oil. As this soap is COSMOS Organic and Ecocert-certified, the palm oil and its derivatives must meet the sustainability requirements of the COSMOS standard. To this end, palm oil is sourced from a monitored and certified supply chain in accordance with the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) guidelines. These guidelines have been developed to reduce the impact of palm oil production on nature, forests and local communities.
