Most natural DIY deo recipes rely heavily on baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). Sodium bicarbonate is an edible, perfectly safe substance, widely used in cooking. Unfortunately when used on the skin, due to its high alkalinity, sodium bicarbonate interferes with the PH of our skin (which is slightly acidic) increasing the chances of skin irritation and depigmentation in armpits.

The ph of Oh Lou Lou! RAW Cocoa deodorant remains slightly acidic, just like our skin ph making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive ones!

This deodorant is not antiperspirant (it won't stop you sweating). This is due to the absence of aluminium, the ingredient in conventional antiperspirants that clogs the sweat glands.
