The combination of organic shea butter, nigella oil, tamanu and geranium supports the skin in cases of acne, scars, rosacea and pigmentation spots, while antioxidants help to achieve a firmer and more supple appearance. This balm is suitable for dry, sensitive and mature skin and offers a nourishing effect that focuses on cell renewal, calmness and an even complexion.
Key benefits
The face balm provides intense comfort and instantly soothes sensitive skin thanks to the softening effect of shea butter and nigella oil. Tamanu helps to improve the skin's texture, especially in the case of scars and pigmentation spots, and contributes to calm, even skin. The botanical oils contain antioxidants that help to combat visible signs of skin ageing, leaving the skin looking firmer and smoother. The texture is easily absorbed without stickiness and is pleasant to use as a daily care product or as an intensive night treatment.
Active ingredients
Shea butter
Shea butter is particularly nourishing for the skin and hair and supports the skin barrier. It is anti-inflammatory, promotes the healing process, softens, moisturises, promotes cell renewal and elasticity, protects against UV radiation and is beneficial for dry, chapped and irritated skin, itching, sunburn, eczema, skin allergies, insect bites, minor skin wounds, and reduces fine wrinkles and lines.
The Shea fruit tree grows to a height of about 20 metres and only grows wild in the West African savannahs. For thousands of years, the kernels have been crushed into an extremely nutritious nut fat or butter packed with vitamins, minerals, proteins and a unique composition of essential fatty acids.
Unrefined shea butter has the highest number of healing and moisturising properties as well as the highest percentage of active ingredients of all butters and oils.
This 100% organic shea butter is obtained by cold pressing (mechanical pressing) the nuts and retains all its nutrients and properties.
Black cumin oil
Black cumin oil is used throughout the Mediterranean region as a remedy with many applications. Black cumin oil was used as a universal remedy in Egypt as far back as the time of the Pharaohs and is mentioned in various ancient writings. Now that natural foods and care products are making a comeback in Europe, a large number of dieticians and scientists are interested in the many active ingredients in black cumin oil.
Black cumin oil consists of 80% healthy fatty acids. It also contains more than 100 bioflavonoids or phytonutrients. These are substances that reinforce each other's effects. Phytonutrients are responsible for the wide range of medicinal effects of black cumin oil. Other substances found in black cumin include amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, fixed and volatile oils, saturated (20%) and unsaturated (80% Omega 3, 6 and 9) fatty acids, alkaloids, saponins, vitamins and minerals.
Fatty acid ratio in black cumin seed oil
- Palmitic acid: 11%
- Stearic acid: 2%
- Oleic acid: 25.5%
- Linoleic acid: 58.5%
- Alpha-linolenic acid: 1%
- Other fatty acids: 2%
As a powerful antioxidant, black cumin oil plays an important role in breaking down free radicals.
Tamanu Oil
The callophyllum is a sacred tree that grows wild in mangroves along the Indian Ocean and particularly in Madagascar, where this tree is called “Foraha”. When the nuts of this tree are pressed, the first cold pressing yields an oil that was considered sacred in ancient times and has a particularly characteristic scent.
Tamanu Oil contains calophyllic acid, calophyllolide (4-phenyl coumarin), fatty acids (lauric acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, eicosanoic acid). It has powerful anti-inflammatory, healing and anti-infectious properties and is rich in fatty acids, vitamins A and E. Tamanu Oil is also soothing and regenerating and neutralises free radicals.
Tamanu Oil is therefore used to care for blemished skin, sensitive skin, irritated skin, skin prone to inflammation and rosacea. It also reduces stretch marks and scars. In combination with other vegetable oils, it has a soothing effect on burns and sunburn.
Tamanu Oil is very beneficial in the treatment of venous circulation (blood circulation), sprains, muscle pain, bruises, relieving rheumatic pains and has powerful analgesic properties.
Due to its analgesic and scar tissue repairing properties, Tamanu Oil is used for the treatment of acne and atopic skin: eczema, psoriasis, various skin conditions, and also for open wounds such as bedsores (1st degree), cracks and cuts. Tamanu Oil also protects against mosquito bites.
